Final Details – Hyper-Public Symposium at Harvard this Thurs/Fri 6/9-10

For those registered for the symposium, here are some final details before the event starts tomorrow.

We very much look forward to your presence in Cambridge, MA for “Hyper-Public: A Symposium on Designing Privacy and Public Space in the Connected World,” taking place later this week (6/9-10) on the campus of Harvard University. This note includes the final logistical and program information you’ll need for the event. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to be in touch.

[1] Opening Reception 6/9 at 6:30PM: There will be an opening event on Thursday evening in the Ropes Gray Room, on the 2nd Floor of Pound Hall. A map to Pound Hall can be found here: http://bit.ly/lmj9FS and is also attached to this email. Food and drink will be served.

[2] Symposium 6/10: The symposium on Friday will begin at 9AM in Maxwell Dworkin Hall, Room G115, on the campus of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. A map to Maxwell Dworkin can be found here: http://bit.ly/mSlW4A. Check-in will begin at 8:30AM and a light breakfast + coffee will be available. The event will end at 5:15PM.

[3] Wiki: We encourage you to add your name and contact information to our symposium wiki. We also invite you to contribute blogposts, links to articles, and other resources that all attendees can access. [5] A Note on Format and Mode: We are planning for each session to engage in focused conversation, with an eye towards deepening our dialogue and determining actionable next steps. We are committed to genuine interactivity throughout the event; all attendees bring important and diverse knowledge, expertise, and experience to the key topic areas, and we hope to encourage active engagement from all participants.

[6] Media: Please note that audio and video from the symposium is being recorded and will be posted to the Berkman Center website following the event. You can offer comments and questions via Twitter hashtag #hyperpublic.

[7] Food for Thought Dinners 6/10: Food for Thought dinners are self-organized gatherings aimed at allowing conference attendees to engage in informal, themed conversation with other conference participants.
